In a strategic step to deepen bilateral economic ties, the Oman–Libya Economic Forum witnessed active participation from both nations’ Chambers of Commerce and Industry. The forum aimed to explore new investment opportunities and promote economic integration between Libya and the Sultanate of Oman.

Key Focus Areas of The Forum:

  • Expanding Industrial Trade:

Participants discussed enhancing trade flows between the two countries, particularly in:

Libyan agricultural and food industries, Omani manufacturing and processed goods, This synergy aims to establish a mutually beneficial economic complementarity.

  • Major Libyan Investment in Oman

Eng. Ahmed, representative of Al Shaafi Holding, announced the company’s plan to establish the world’s largest nitrogen-based fertilizer plant in Oman through its subsidiary,

Al Shaafi for Trade & Investment.Investment” intention to establish the world’s largest nitrogen fertilizer production facility in the Sultanate of Oman.

The project is designed to:

  • Strengthen bilateral trade channels
  • Create employment opportunities for Omani youth
  • Support economic diversification in the Sultanate

 

  • Support from the Oman Chamber of Commerce:

Eng. Mohammed, representative of the Omani Chamber of Commerce and Industry, expressed full support for the initiative.

  • Calls for Overcoming Trade Barriers

Forum participants emphasized the need to: Resolve logistical and bureaucratic hurdles that hinder cross-border trade and Promote joint marketing initiatives for Omani and Libyan products in regional and global markets

The forum successfully opened new channels of collaboration and laid the groundwork for long-term trade and investment growth between Libya and Oman. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to fostering strategic partnerships in key sectors, marking this event as a turning point in bilateral economic relations.
