Cable Route Development Project (245 kV)

Rahma Contracting: A Quantum Leap Toward a More Efficient and Safer Electrical Infrastructure

Rahma Contracting & Real Estate Investment continues its work on the 245 kV Cable Pathway Development Project, in close collaboration with the General Electricity Company of Libya, covering the areas of Al-Hadhba, Ain Zara, and South Tripoli. The project aims to replace traditional overhead power lines with modern underground cables, significantly improving the stability of the electrical network, reducing outages, and enhancing public safety in residential areas.

The execution is progressing swiftly and systematically, in line with the latest technical standards in the power sector. Key stages of the project include:

  • Excavation and Ground Pathway Preparation: Carefully mapped trenching has been carried out according to the approved layout to ensure uninterrupted power flow without disturbing nearby residential zones.
  • Supply and laying of 245 kV High-Voltage Cables: Internationally certified cables are being installed to ensure high-performance electrical transmission and long-term durability.
  • Construction of Inspection Chambers and Underground Transformer Stations: Custom-built inspection chambers have been implemented at key connection points to facilitate future maintenance and technical monitoring.
  • Backfilling and Surface Restoration: After the cable installation, the trenches were carefully backfilled using compacted materials to prevent any future ground subsidence. The surrounding surfaces were also rehabilitated with eco-friendly and community-conscious landscaping to ensure environmental harmony.
  • Quality and Efficiency Testing: Comprehensive electrical and technical tests are being conducted to guarantee the system’s operational safety and performance before it is officially commissioned.
